Explore Writing runs on Wednesdays from 7pm-8pm. This interactive and enjoyable course for children aged 8 and above focuses on creative writing, challenging children who already love to write whilst also inspiring reluctant writers.
Succeed In Secondary runs on Thursdays from 7pm-8pm. This course is aimed at children in Years 6, 7, 8 and 9, in order to help them gain the skills required on entry to secondary school and beyond. Children will study and debate interesting topics in curriculum areas, such as English, Citizenship, Science, Geography and History, enabling them to express their own opinions and to present their ideas.
Entrance Exam Preparation runs on Tuesday from 5:30-6:30pm and 7pm-8pm and Thursday 5:30pm-6:30pm. This comprehensive 10 month programme is open to all members in year 5 looking to sit entrance exams or the 11+ in January 2011. The course covers verbal and non verbal reasoning whilst also supporting children's studies of maths and English. Children will work in small ratios with encouraging tutors to develop the underlying skills needed to tackle the exam with confidence and complete practice papers at each stage of the course.
Explore and Schools
At Cobham we are keen to build our relationships with our local schools by offering free workshops in maths and English. These fun and interactive workshops will challenge the children and complement their learning inside the classroom.
During Spring 2010 we are hosting our National Young Writers' Award workshops and engaging Numeracy Rallies.
