Welcome to Explore Learning in Epsom!

Welcome to Explore Learning in Epsom. Rhiannon, Vicki and Sophie are very excited by the progress their members are making as they head into the new school term. Parents have also been very pleased by the steps their children have been making, not only in their maths and English but also in improving their concentration and enthusiasm for learning.
"Since attending Explore Learning, Shakira is more enthusiastic about reading, sounding out new words and even trying to read long words. The tutors are brilliant. I feel they treat my daughter as an individual giving her the time and attention she needs." Kiran Shah, Explore Parent

Explore Learning and the local community

In Epsom we work very closely with a number of schools, libraries and community groups holding fun literacy and numeracy workshops. Last term we worked with several schools around Epsom and Ewell, such as Ewell Castle, Kingswood House, Wallace Fields, Aberdour, Danetree, Oakfield and many more.  We are currently going into local schools introducing our National Young Writers Competition, which is for children under the age of 14 to have the chance to win £500 worth of books for their school, as well as a family holiday to Disneyland Paris!!!

If you are interested in the Nation Young Writers Competition please pop into our centre to collect an entry form or visit the webpage.

Over the February half term we also have an opportunity to take part in a Creative Writing workshop in the Epsom Library, in the Ebbisham Centre, from 11am-12pm, for children in years 3-6 to get their creative juices flowing!

If you are in the Ashley Centre over February half term, why not take part in one of our exciting activities designed to stretch you brains and be lots of fun! There are also prizes to be had for those children who complete our maths or literacy challenges! Come and take part on Tuesday 16th, Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th of February outside Holland and Barratt, and see what you can win!

Also if you would like us to visit your Brownie/Cub/Beaver group then do give us a call or pass you number onto one of our staff who will try and organise a visit to your pack.  We can do a range of activities that will help towards some of your badges as well!

Please call us on 01372 722994 to find out what literacy and numeracy workshops we can hold for your class or community group.

Workshops and Open Sessions

Within our centre we hold lots of different workshops to interest and enthuse our members. Over the holidays we have a fantastic programme of workshops including George's Marvellous Medicine, Fun with Phonics, Telling the Time and Succeed in Secondary. These are all well attended and prompt brilliant pieces of work. Keep a look out for our events during the coming months and February half term. Places are limited so remember to sign up as soon as possible.

The next open session is:

2) Explore Writing- Tuesday 16th February
This course is a taster session for any members between yr 4 and yr6 who are either looking for a forum to use their creativity and writing ability to produce fantastic pieces of writing, or those who need a boost with their writing skills and an increase in confidence.  Using award winning software and a range of exciting writing challanges, the children will be able to experience the range of activities that make up our Creative Writing course.  They will also have the opportunity to enter a story in the National Young Writers' Awards.

We also offer the opportunity for parents to visit the centre during one of our Parent Open Sessions. Let your child become the tutor and see the work they are covering when they are in our centre! The next one is on Friday 19th February, 12pm-1pm.

During the February half term we will be having a 'Bring a Friend for Free' event, in which our current members were allowed to bring their siblings and friends to have a go at some of our work. Please ask in the centre if you would like your child to attend with a friend.
