What our parents have to say...

"Robert loves Explore Learning and the challenge it provides.  His maths has progressed and he is overtaking some of his classmates.  He is never too tired to go to Explore, even at the end of a busy day. The program has strengthened his progress at school and his teachers have noticed the improvement.  I consider it money well spent."

Entrance Exam Preparation Course, Wednesday 7-8pm
The Maidenhead 11+ course is tailored to prepare children for the entrance exams of local Buckinghamshire and Berkshire schools including the Slough Consortium, Kendrick School and Sir William Borlaise's Grammar School. Year 5 pupils on the course cover verbal and non-verbal reasoning as well as building on their general literacy and numeracy skills to ensure they excel when they reach their secondary school.  Dedicated tutors work with small groups to develop confidence and independent learning skills, and will design an individual curriculum tailored to your child's needs.  For more information on the course please contact the centre and speak to one of our managers.

Succeed in Secondary, Thursday 7-8pm
This fantastic course is designed to help children prepare for life at secondary school and build confidence during the transition from primary school. Open to pupils in year 6,7,8 and 9 it provides an opportunity for our older members to express opinions, build study skills, research, debate and present their ideas.  To see some of the work our members have done please contact a manager at the centre.

Explore Writing, Tuesday 7-8pm
Designed to excite reluctant readers, inspire imagination and challenge children who already enjoy writing, this course helps to develop a passion for reading and writing in all children from Year 3 upwards.  Throughout the course we explore a range of writing styles and literary techniques to stimulate all creative minds.  Our tutors will help children develop confidence in their own ideas and improve their drafting, spelling and editing skills to produce work they are proud of. To book a trial session please contact a manager at the centre.

Explore Learning and Local Schools

In Maidenhead we work very closely with a number of schools holding fun literacy and numeracy workshops for pupils from Year 1 to Year 6. some of the schools we have held workshops for have been Wessex Primary, White Waltham Primary and Bisham Primary.

We also hold Succeed in Secondary workshops for Year 6 classes to prepare all 10 and 11 year olds for the move to secondary school.

"Visits from Explore benefit the children as they respond well to 'new faces' and a different approach to learning.  They enjoyed the games which were all fun and motivating and they were excited to do something new and different.  It's always great to involve the wider community in the children's learning."
Ms Smith, Assistant Head Teacher at Alwyn Infants School.

Please call us on 01628 509570 to find out what literacy and numeracy workshops we can hold for your class.
