Additional Courses
Explore Writing, Wednesday 7pm - 8pm
Explore Writing is a fantastic creative writing course for children aged 8+. This course is designed to stretch budding young authors as well as encouraging more reluctant writers. Children are taught a variety of writing techniques by our enthusiastic tutors and are encouraged to enjoy exploring their creative sides.
Succeed in Secondary, Tuesday 7pm - 8pm
Succeed in Secondary invites members in Primary 7 and above to engage in topical debates, learn vital presentational skills and develop a mature attitude to learning. Each project is aimed at developing expertise to ease the transition from primary to secondary.
Open Sessions
Open Sessions are a fantastic way for our parents to learn more about their child's course. Parents are invited to attend a session and work through a course while being tutored by their child. This gives the children a great confidence boost as they can show their parents examples of their progress with Explore Learning.

Explore and Schools
At Explore Learning we work closely with local schools, offering free maths and literacy workshops designed to inspire pupils. These workshops can be held within the classroom or the Explore Learning centre. We have recently worked with the following schools:
"The range of questions at the workshop meant that all the children could participate and be challenged by the activities. A very positive approach by Explore staff enabled children who sometimes need extra support to succeed."
Victoria Mackay, Balgreen Primary teacher
If you are a teacher in the local area and would like more information on our free workshops, please contact a manager on 0131 3377401. We are also keen to build links with local secondary schools.
Explore and the Community
Explore Learning regularly hosts community events. If you are interested in attending an upcoming library event, or would like to arrange for Explore Learning tutors to run an event in your library, please contact the centre.
If you are a Cubs or Brownies leader and would like to find out how Explore Learning can help your youngsters attain some of their badges, we are happy to arrange a time to visit your weekly meet.
Free Holiday Workshops
Throughout the year we run free holiday workshops for our members. These workshops are designed to address any tricky areas or common interests our members have through stimulating group work. To find out about future events, please check the at the front desk for more information or ask a tutor.

What our members and teachers have said about Explore
"Perfect! They loved it! A great stimulus! Very creative and just a bit different."
Sonja Fair, South Morningside Primary teacher
"Children all enjoyed the workshop and seemed to work well really well together to find answers. They were enthusiastic about the tasks."
J. Mears, Juniper Green teacher
"All the tutors are extremely professional and so very friendly. All the staff have a way of making each individual child feel they are the special one. Emma remembers more information because of the patience and attention which she always receives."
Mrs Randall, Murrayfield parent
"You get helped in a way you understand, my maths has improved which has not only helped my maths but has helped my physics too. It boosts me up in other subjects. Before I wouldn't ask for help, I would feel scared because I don't want to feel stupid. Now I will ask because I feel more confident. It's great becausethe Explore sessions fit around my life."
