Explore
members are taught in a way that works alongside schools. All of our
material and teaching methods map closely to the National Curriculum,
ensuring that the skills and knowledge gained at Explore will transfer
directly to the classroom.
The Explore Experience Improves Confidence in Class
Explore
members become more confident in class. At Explore, enthusiastic tutors
work closely with each child, helping them to practice existing skills
and challenge them in new areas. This means that children never feel
left behind at school, and never lose their enthusiasm for learning.
Every
step of the way, the tutors encourage children and boost their
self-esteem. Children leave the centre feeling really good about
themselves, and ready to apply their knowledge in class the next day.
Explore works in partnership with Schools:
All
Explore Learning centres work closely with local primary and secondary
schools in their communities. Explore tutors are actively involved in
school life and support schools by holding regular literacy and
numeracy events both in the classroom and at Explore centres. We also
hold assemblies and workshops, designed to motivate children to learn.
"We
have thoroughly enjoyed having Explore Learning to take several lively
assemblies with us and the children have benefited greatly from the
activities."
Mrs Godfrey - Head of Chancellor Park Primary School
"The assemblies are always interactive, inspirational sessions with enthusiastic and motivated staff." Mrs Brock - Head of Beehive Lane Community Primary School
The
aim of Explore events is to inspire pupils to feel enthusiastic and
confident about maths and English, whilst supporting local schools with
their targets.
Explore
tutors build excellent relationships with local teachers, and develop
long term partnerships with schools. We offer a wide range of events
throughout the school year, from assemblies to individual class visits,
all of which are designed to support the key objectives of the National
Curriculum.
Class visits to Explore centres
We
regularly invite schools to literacy and numeracy events held in our
centres. These events are an excellent opportunity for pupils to get
the chance to use our excellent resources, and to learn outside the
normal classroom environment. During these visits, pupils participate
in a wide selection of exciting activities, ranging from interactive
work on our computer courses to group problem solving pursuits.
Explore in the Classroom
Explore
tutors also run lessons in the classroom for all year groups. During
these class visits, children work in teams to solve literacy and
numeracy activities, all of which are designed to support the key
objectives that children are working towards at school. These class
visits are an excellent opportunity for pupils to apply the skills they
have been working on in class by applying them to new, imaginative
problems.
Explore Assemblies
Explore
Assemblies are a fantastic way to get the whole school enthused and
excited about maths and English, as they are highly interactive and
engaging. They are based on a selection of literacy and numeracy
challenges that encourage team participation and get all year groups
involved.
Explore and the PTA
Explore
supports PTAs Explore tutors also work closely with PTAs, and can be
regularly seen supporting school fairs and other PTA events. At these
events, Explore tutors run engaging literacy and numeracy games for
children, and often donate prizes for raffles.
