Explore Managers and Tutors know how to get the best out of children.  They are passionate and engaging communicators and role models.  All staff are trained to become experts in the curriculum and are knowledgeable about current teaching methods.  Our maximum ratio is 1:6 - just the right balance between individual attention and independent learning.

Training and development is important for all staff.  Out tutors receive training and support across a broad range of areas, including:
 
•  Current teaching methods.
•  How to motivate and inspire children.
•  Behaviour management.
•  Ofsted/Care Commission regulations
•  Health and safety.

Hannah Long
Hannah graduated from the University of Oxford with a 2:1 in Modern Languages, having specialised in French and Linguistics. She has worked with children in a variety of settings, ranging from the classroom to Sunday schools. Hannah taught English to French children during her year abroad, and volunteered at a school for children with learning disabilities as a part of her Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
 
 
Richard Hubbert
A graduate of York University, Richard studied History and Politics, gaining a 2:1 honours degree in 2006. Enthusiastic about working with children, Richard worked as a volunteer at a youth club for children with learning disabilities in his native City of Lincoln. Enthused by this experience, he travelled to Ghana in West Africa in June 2007 to teach English to children aged between 7 and 14. 
 
 
Laura Livingston 
Laura graduated from Glasgow University with an MA in Sociology (2:1) and has an SVQ (level 4) in Childcare Learning and Development. Laura has a great interest in education and has a wide range of experience working with children in both a classroom environment and through summer clubs.
Laura started with Explore Learning in August 2004 in Bristol before joining our first Scottish centre.
