Rosie Hamps

Centre Director - Bristol Emersons Green

“The enthusiasm of young people has always inspired me to work with them and to help them reach their full potential. Seeing children progress to fulfil their goals and watching their confidence grow from their achievement is what makes working for Explore Learning so rewarding.”

Rosie graduated from the University of Birmingham with a 2:1 in Music. Before attending university, Rosie spent a year volunteering in Tamil Nadu, India. She taught English, French and Social Studies, to children in a remote tea-picking town. It was during her time in India that she realised her passion for educational development. During her time at university, she worked at a local school tutoring English and assisting with GCSE coursework. Rosie also spent two summers training young volunteers for a gap year organisation in the Hebrides.

Sarah Sage

Assistant Director - Bristol Emersons Green

“I am very keen to help children reach their full potential and to ensure that they enjoy their learning.  Explore Learning is able to provide that fun, friendly and exciting environment in order for children to develop a passion for learning.  I enjoy watching children grow in confidence during their time at Explore Learning and love that I can be a part of that transition.”

Sarah graduated from the University of the West of England with a first in Psychology.  Her passion for education developed whilst studying Psychology and this led her to chose to specialise in modules focusing on education and children’s development.  During her second year she participated in the Student Associates Scheme teaching maths to students at secondary school.  The scheme provided her with an opportunity to work closely with children of all abilities in both a classroom environment and in smaller groups.  Throughout university, Sarah spent three years working with children as a volunteer Sea Cadet Instructor. She taught children various skills such as boat work, rope work and First Aid.

Amy Cullen

Assistant Director - Bristol Emersons Green

“Watching children develop and grow in confidence when they come into Explore Learning is definitely one of the most satisfying and rewarding aspects of the job. Tailoring education to children’s individual needs is important in ensuring progression and motivation to learn and Explore Learning certainly achieves that!”

Amy graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a 2:1 degree in Psychology. She was particularly interested in child psychology and autism spectrum disorders where she gained a broader knowledge of children’s development. Amy has always enjoyed working with children in a variety of settings. Throughout her studies, she gained much experience volunteering as a Learning Assistant in local primary schools, working with children on a one to one basis who required additional help. As well as in educational settings, she has also worked with children with special needs as a volunteer for the Special Olympics as well as working in summer holiday activity camps with children of all ages ranging from 4 to 15 years.
