Sophie Cook
Centre Director
“I am passionate about giving every child the opportunity to reach their full potential. I love working for Explore Learning as their diverse resources enable us to help children with any area of maths and English that they find tricky. It is a very rewarding job when you see that a child, who previously lacked confidence and an interest in a subject, now practices it with relish.”
Sophie joined Explore after graduating from the University of Exeter with a 2:1 in History. The focus of her degree reflected her interest in education, choosing to research the introduction of compulsory education in the late nineteenth century for her dissertation. During her studies, Sophie always wanted to work with children and volunteered at her local primary school, working with children from Reception through to Year 6. Sophie also volunteered at Gifted and Talented courses run by her university for local schools.
In her spare time Sophie enjoys going to the cinema, expanding her cookery skills and visiting new places.
